Movement Analysis
Introduction
Movement Analysis
Movement analysis simply is the study of human biomechanics. It is essential that we understand how the musculoskeletal system works effectively to allow us to detect biomechanical faults as part of a wider assessment. This is extremely important when determining certain causes of injuries and will help guide our treatment approach to correct functional imbalances and ultimately prevent the re-occuring.
As therapists, we are expertly positioned to assess normal human movement which may vary from a run, squat, jump or throw. Our knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology enables us to identify movement impairments which will enable us to approach treatment on an individual basis depending on the functional requirement of the individual.
