Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation
Introduction
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation is a manual therapy technique commonly used alongside massage that uses a variety of specialised steel ergonomic instruments to help relieve muscle tension. It can have a significant impact on mobility by helping to break down unhelpful collagen structures, such as scar tissue, which will aid with function, performance and ultimately reduce pain. It can be used to help treat a number of issues around the body and has been especially effective at managing rotator cuff pain, quadriceps pain, tennis/golfers elbow and plantar fasciitis.
