Foot/Heel Pain
Introduction
Foot/Heel Pain
The foot and ankle is composed of 28 bones that form 33 separate joints so evidently it is an extremely complex area within our bodies. Understanding normal human movement is key for us as therapists to identify true causes of foot pain. This will involve not only assessing your foot and ankle but taking a wider look across your body as a whole to see what is overloading the entire system.
As previously mentioned, plantar fasciitis is a frequent complaint within our clinics which can cause dramatic changes to people’s lives. Strengthening the surrounding structures and often the entire lower limb is vital in order to get rid of this frustrating and painful complaint. Our introduction of shockwave therapy (ESWT) has dramatically upgraded our treatment options and has shown to significantly improve recovery times for this extremely stubborn injury.
